Joe Diener (’08)
After earning a bachelor’s in Marketing Management, Joe Diener (’08) was commissioned through Maranatha ROTC as an infantry officer in the NH Army National Guard, also working in the civilian sector as a technician testing firearms and small arms systems. In 2016 Joe left the National Guard after receiving a direct commission into the U.S. Coast Guard. He is currently stationed in San Diego, where he serves as Lieutenant in a Deployable Specialized Forces unit. “I was challenged by an MBU professor to join ROTC which enabled me to focus my efforts and gave me an amazing and unique career I wouldn’t have had otherwise.”

JON & MICKI REHFELDT
After graduating with his Biblical Studies major, Jon Rehfeldt (’06, ’08, ’11) began deputation to prepare for mission work in the country of Uruguay while he finished his Master of Divinity degree at Maranatha Baptist Seminary and taught Greek at MBU. He met Micki (Kibler, ’14), a Marketing Management major, shortly after she returned from a Spanish immersion trip, one of the requirements for her Spanish minor. After getting married, they completed deputation and moved to Uruguay in September of 2013. “We are presently in Colonia, Uruguay, a growing city just across Rio de la Plata from Buenos Aires,” Jon shared. “We are involved in every aspect of the ministry here, but are focusing on the Bible Institute. While I am busy writing, translating, teaching, and administrating, Micki helps with project design, organization, and–the students’ favorite–cooking.”
