Dr. Charles Plummer has over 30 years of varied experience from both military and civilian roles, including roles as an educator, staff arranger/composer, squad leader, copyright subject matter expert, and Senior Human Resources Non-Commissioned Officer with the US Army at Ft. Riley, KS, where he served until his retirement in April 2024. His career, distinguished by a strong commitment to knowledge sharing, is highlighted by numerous publications, arrangements, and recordings, most recently with the United States Army Band and Men’s Chorus in Washington, D.C. At Maranatha Baptist University, Dr. Plummer is dedicated to inspiring and mentoring through servant leadership and discipling, with a steadfast focus on pointing others to Christ.

Family: Chuck and Amy have been married since 2006. They are the proud parents of three daughters—Rachel, Sarah, and Mary—and they also have a German Shorthaired Pointer named Prince.
Campus Involvement: Director, Human Resources; Leadership Council, Title IX Coordinator
Church Ministry: Has previously served as a Sunday School teacher, Deacon, and Music Director in previous ministries and is currently a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Watertown.
Other activities and interests: Marathon running, long-distance cycling, ear training, composition & arranging, performing on trombone and piano, and spending time with his family

Organizations: Performed as principal trombonist with the Peoria Opera (IL), West Palm Beach Symphony Orchestra (FL), Virginia Symphony (VA), Louisville Civic Orchestra (KY), Walt Disney All-American College Band (Orlando), Orquesta Sinfónica de Trujillo (Peru), and at the American Palenque Amphitheater during the World Expo in Seville, Spain.
Recent Speaking Engagements & Publications: Dr. Plummer has served as an official narrator for military ceremonies and has performed musical memorial services honoring fallen Soldiers. Additionally, he has been a guest speaker and has presented masterclasses at the Worship Conference in Indianapolis, IN. His dissertation, titled “Performance Enhancement for Musicians Using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing,” is an interdisciplinary study that explores the intersection of music, science, and psychology.
