Watch Christmas Choir Concert Performed for Watertown Concert Series
Maranatha Baptist University’s Chamber Singers and Madrigal Choir recently collaborated to sing a Christmas concert for the Watertown Concert Series. The choirs performed works from a variety of genres including sacred, secular, and Christmas, under the direction of Dr. David Ledgerwood and Dr. David Brown.
While the choirs sang fun songs such as Robert Applebaum’s “Toboggan for Two” and Mark Hayes’ arrangement of “Jingle Bells,” the concert focused on the true meaning of Christmas found in the birth of Jesus Christ. The choir performed Molly Ijames’ touching arrangement of “Sweet Little Jesus Boy” and John Rutter’s lyrical “What Sweeter Music,” in addition to new settings of traditional Christmas carols. The concert was a delightful way to begin the Christmas season.
