Dr. Jodi Herbert became part of the Maranatha faculty in 2015, one of many Maranatha alumni now serving on campus. Teaching at Maranatha had been a dream since her freshman year as a student, when the Academic Dean challenged her to consider pursuing a graduate degree in mathematics. Before returning to MBU to teach, she earned both a Master’s and PhD in Mathematics. She teaches a variety of mathematics courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
“I love teaching math at the university level, but it is even better when I get to teach math and watch and help students grow spiritually,” Dr. Herbert says.

Family: Jodi comes from a family of MBU alumni – her parents and four siblings are all Maranatha graduates, several with both bachelor’s and master’s degrees
Campus Involvement: Small group leader; accompanist for a student in the concerto competition.

Church Ministry: Jodi serves in the music ministry of her church, conducting the church choir, playing the piano and special music. She also serves as the church treasurer.
Community Involvement: Jodi plays in the Watertown Municipal Band during the summer.
Other activities and interests: reading, making music – especially playing the piano and participating in music at church
