Renata Arcanjo to Join MBU Nursing Faculty

We are pleased to announce that Mrs. Renata Arcanjo of Kildare, Ireland will join our nursing faculty at MBU in January, filling a much-needed role as classroom and clinical instructor. Born and raised in Brazil, Mrs. Arcanjo received her bachelor’s and licentiate degree in nursing from Federal Fluminense University (UFF) in Niterói, Brazil in 2013, and her master’s in health care sciences from the same institution in 2016. She received a Health Professions’ Education Post Graduate Certificate from University College Cork in May 2024.

Mrs. Arcanjo has worked in healthcare since 2013, most recently as clinical nurse manager and ER nurse at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital of Dublin, Ireland. She has authored articles in multiple research journals, and is fluent in Portuguese and English.

Renata and her husband Lucas are active members of their local church in Dublin, where Renata taught Sunday School and served in music. She is a new mother, and excited about the opportunity “to make a positive difference in students’ lives.”

Dr. Thomas Graham, Vice-President for Academic Affairs, shares, “Mrs. Arcanjo is an intelligent, confident, and compassionate nurse experienced in nursing practice, nursing research, and nursing education. Her background and experiences will add a multi-cultural perspective to our nursing department that I believe will better prepare our nursing students to serve the Lord both domestically and internationally.”
