Shawn Spencer

Mr. Shawn Spencer moved from West Virginia to join the Applied Science faculty in the fall of 2022. He brings a wealth of science knowledge to his position, as well as years of experience in part-time and full-time ministry. Spencer served in the Army Reserves, working with signal support systems and nuclear-biological-chemical detection systems and spent ten years working as a chemical engineer. Spencer also followed the Lord’s leading to minister as an associate pastor, pastor, and Biblical counselor.
When applying for this faculty position, Spencer said, “I would love to serve the Lord by training men to serve the Lord, whether in the church or in the workplace. Dr. Lane Hansel, Chair of the Applied Science Department, stated, “Shawn brings extensive knowledge and real-life application of chemistry to the classroom from his years of work experience in the field. He is eager to help our students succeed both in and out of the classroom as he prepares them for their next steps.”
